couples. Now personally, I find that a bit annoying. In my opinion, it
really doesn't matter...or shouldn't. So, the way I see it, you take the

your CC vs. CSS page. Nelvana didn't create the Kero's Corner segments,
those were made with the original Japanese series, and apparently not
included when the Cardcaptors was shown on WB in the U.S. Also, as to your rant against CLAMP... When it comes to character relations in Card Captor Sakura, many of the same gender relations are implied only. Many of the characters such as Yukito and Touya's close friendship can be interpreted as the reader wishes. It's not blatantly same-gender relationship, but if the reader/fangirl interprets it as such, one must remember that Japanese culture is much less homophobic then American culture. And when it comes to relationships portrayed between teacher/students and when there are large age differences, I don't think the meaning is that CLAMP advocates teacher/student relationships, but they are portraying idealistic 'true love' and 'soulmate' concepts... |
