Yarn rerooting: not looking like dreads

I’ve been working on a technique to make a doll that can have big sculptural hair as the client wants but also let it down and be her caucasian self. So here’s formerly bait teen skipper:

  • orange acrylic and vallejo matte 1-1 mix paint dried for an hour,
  • solo straightened 1.5-2mm strands rooted around the head once every two plugs.
  • Tight line for the parting with one side of the plug folded over to the other side.
  • Internal ‘bulk’ about 6-8mm diam around each plug.

The yarn allows for the sculptural big hairdos but hair down she’ll just look like this:
