Toya, Yuki & the magical can of Tuna! by Kira

The crowd roared as the opposing team headed towards the goal. Yuki was trying his best to stop them, but Orange Star High's best player managered to slip past him and was heading Toya's way. Now there was nothing between him and the goal exept Toya. He kicked the soccer ball and what should have been an easy goal was somehow blocked by Toya who appeared to have magically changed directions as he lunged for the ball. Toya caught it as he expected, but never counted on the momentum carrying him into the side of the net. The crowd roared again as Toya hit his head on the net and then everything went black.

"Toya? Toya?", Yuki called softly to him as he patted his cheek. "Koji where is Coach?"

"He's coming Yuki! How's Toya?"

Yuki shook his head and shrugged. He shot Koji a pained look. Koji bent and squeezed Yukli shoulder as he whispered in his ear, "Toya will be fine! You'll see"

Just then Toya opened his eyes as Coach got there from the other side of the field. It was only minutes but to Yuki it was a lifetime as he watched anxiously as the two coaches checked out Toya. Someone then said they tried calling his house but Toya's dad wasn't home & neither was anyone else. So since Toya seemed ok the coach said he would take him home in case his family was there now.

"Yuki you might as well come too as I'm sure you know the wat to Toya's house."

Yuki smiled for the first time since the accident. He helped Coach get his friend up after the school doctor said it was okas Toys looked like he had a mild concussion. "Make sure if he goes to sleep again you can wake him up otherwise you'll have to get him to the hospital. Make sure you reach his dad and have him take Toya to his own doctor if he feels somethings not right."

With that last bit of doctorly advice they got Toya up and headed for Coach's car. They put him in the back and Yuki got in next to him. Toya was puzzled at all the attention and especially the silly questions Yuki and Coach kept asking him. When they arrived at Toya's house his dad and Sakura were still out so Yuki used Toya's key to let them all in. By then Toay had perked up eventhough he complained his head was killing him. Both boys convinced Coach that Toya's dad was returning that very minute according to the note Sakura had left telling them where they were.

"Ouch! Yuki can you get me some ice for my head?"

"Sure what should I put it in?"

There's some bags in the pantry, oh.. wait a minute Dad moved them. I'll come with and help you find them"

"Ok. How about I make us some tea too?"

"Ok and if you're hungry Yuki have something to eat too. Don't worry about me, I don't feel like anything more than the tea."

The two got up and went into the kitchen. Yuki busied himself making tea and finding some cookies, while Toya hunted for the plastic bags. He was about to open a high cabinet door when Yuki asked him where Sakura hid the teapot. "Over there, Yuki. Ouch! What's with things hitting my head tod...." There was a clunk as a can of tuna fell out of the cabinet followed by an ouch and comment before the loud thud as Toya hit the floor. When he came to he was suprised to see his friend dressed much like he was when they did the play Cinderella.

"Yuki why are you wearing that silly Tuna can costume again?"

"I'm sorry, I'm not Yuki." The Yuki lookalike smiled that familar smile before telling Toya who he was."I'm your Fairyfish Mother! And I'm here to grant youu three wishes." They Fairyfish Mother waive his magic wand, which had a little fish on top, and pretty colored fishscales rained down on Toya's head.

"Well at least that bit of silliness seems to have cured my headache.", he thought. "Okay Yuki! But I thought I was the one who hit his head today!", Toya tried to laugh but it made his head hurt.

"Do you want me to fix your head?"

"Why not Yuki."

"I told you before I'm your Fairyfish Mother, not Yuki, but close your eyes and count to three along with me!"

"One, two, three!", the two said together as the Fairyfish Mother waved his wand over Toya's head.

"Hey! Whatever you did Yuki, I mean Fairyfish Mother, it seems to have worked! I don't even have a bump on my head anymore!"

"See I told you I was your Fairyfish Mother and what ever you wished would come true!"

Toya looked at his friend strangely but said nothing. They even sat and had the tea Yuki made for them before Toya was conked on the head again with the can of tuna.

"Hey do you want to open this up and eat it? Maybe I can find another couple of cans and we can make dinner for everyone. I wonder what's taking them so long?"

"Toya! You must never open that can! It contains powerful magic and besides it's my house!"

"You know Yuki you're scaring me!", Toya teased. "I mean Fairyfish Mother!"

When Fujitaka and Sakura arrived home from the grocery store, Toya found them to be acting a bit strange too. Sakura was acting like a real brat and kept ordering him around. In fact when he told her what had ahppened to him she didn't beleive at all. In fact she stomped on his foot and yelled at him for slacking off! When he went on about Yuki she yelled for her father to talk to Toya about acting crazy.

"Father Toya is going on and on about someone named Yuki as if he was entertaining people while we were out! He didn't even do any of his chores! Father! Look at the chore board!"

"Toya! Sakura is right! Why are you sitting around having tea when there is work to be done?! Where is our dinner? ! "

"Dad? Don't you remember I had a soccer game today? We were winning then I hit my head on the goal. Coach and Yuki brought me home. That's why nothing is done and besides Sakura said she would switch the times with me and do my chores today. "

"Sakura does have any chores Toya! You know that! What did I tell you about making excuses for not doing your work?"

Toya stood there speechless. As far as he was concerned someone had taken his family away and replaced them with monsters that looked like them and sounded like them, but did NOT act like them. So he decided to pretend to do something as it was clear they couldn't see Yuki sitting there calmly having tea. "Maybe he really is a Fairyfish mother and not Yuki. My family certainly wouldn't act that way and they would never ignore Yuki, especially Sakura! Well I can't believe I really do have a monster for a sister!"

When Sakura nad Fujitake left the kitchen, Toya made sure they were really gone and then he asked his Fairyfish Mother for another wish.

"Oh Fairyfish Mother, can I have another wish?"

The Fairyfish Mother nodded "yes", so Toya asked him to make his family nicer, so the Fairyfish Mother waved his wand and they were. Before the nicer Sakura could ask Toya how she could help him with dinner, Toya said, "I wish I could go back in time to see if we won the soccer game, 'cause I forget."

So the Fairyfish Mother waved his wand again and...

Just then Toya opened his eyes as Coach got there from the other side of the field.

"Don't move Toya! You Hit your head and we're waitng for the school doctor to get here. What is it Koji?"

"Toya we got a hold of your Dad. He's on his way here."

"Can someone call My sister's school and let her know what happened?"

"Toya don't worry! I'll se to it Sakura gets home ok!"

"Thanks Yuki! Ouch! What was that?"

"Sorry Toya! Coach! It's just a can of tuna I had in my warm up jacket. I was going to eat later after the game." Poor Yuki looked so sad that Toya started to laugh except it made his head hurt so he stopped. That was when his dad and the school doctor arrived. Taking a good look at Toya, he recommend the take him to the local hospital for xrays. That was how Sakura found him later at home, in bed with a soft collar around his neck and an ice bag on his head. At her's and Yuki's concerned looks he told them the story of what he thought had happened to him. Both of them thopught it was the best story they ever heard and Yuki promised he wouldn't share hifish buns with Toya any more.

"Why won't you share them?", asked Toya.

"Don't you remember having one before the game? I just had a feeling fish didn't agree with you, that's all."

"Oh. Well I won't see you at school tomorrow but can you bring home my work please?"

"Sure. Anything else?"

"Yeah. Here catch!"

Toya threw something at Yuki who caught it.

"Yuki what is it?", asked Sakura.

"Nothing just my can of tuna!", laughed Yuki.

"Tuna?"

"Sakura did you know that this is a magial can of tuna?", said Toya.

"No....Toya! If you weren't hurt, I'd pinch you! Magic tuna! Really!", she said as she left with Yuki who waved it in the air. Toya's eyes grew wide as he was sure he saw little fish scales fall from it. Then he thought he better get some sleep as he made a promise to himself to do as Yuki suggested and lay off the fish buns!
